Exhibitions with loans from the NL

The Swiss National Library lends objects from its collections to exhibitions organised by other institutions. Below you will find an overview of the exhibitions in which works from the collection of the Swiss National Library have been integrated this year:

Japanese woodcuts at the Museum Franz Gertsch
The exhibition ‘Shin-hanga’ at the Museum Franz Gertsch showcases Japanese woodcuts from the 1920s to the 1960s. The exhibited woodcuts combine traditional techniques with modern motifs. The exhibition focuses on iconic views of Switzerland and Japan by Hiroshi Yoshida. They are presented alongside works by other ‘Shin-hanga’ artists. The exhibition also features four works from the archive of the Swiss National Library’s Prints and Drawings Department. 14.06.2025–31.08.2025.

Doris Stauffer’s works in La Chaux-de-Fonds
Doris Stauffer was an artist, activist and co-founder of the F+F School of Experimental Design in Zurich. She championed new methods of learning and feminist issues. Doris Stauffer’s archive is held by the Swiss National Library’s Prints and Drawings Department. The exhibition ‘Doris Stauffer – I am a snow plough’ at the Musée des beaux-arts in La Chaux-de-Fonds includes around 50 works from our collections. 13.04.2025–24.08.2025
