You can consult the collections and archives of the Prints and Drawings Department and the Federal Archives of Historic monuments free of charge for academic studies, journalistic purposes, exhibition preparations or personal interest.
Range and access
- Only available for viewing on site by prior appointment (at least three working days in advance)
- Research: Brief descriptions of the holdings can be found in HelveticArchives (the NL’s archive database). Only some individual documents have been catalogued. For full research, contact the Prints and Drawings Department. Where the holdings have only been broadly catalogued, you must view them on site.
- All posters can be found in the Swiss Poster Collection catalogue
- Artists’ books and art prints can be found in Helveticat (the NL’s library catalogue)
- Guided tours for schools and groups by arrangement
