In 1942–43, while he was a student, Friedrich Dürrenmatt lived in an attic at Laubeggstrasse 49 in Bern. While there he painted its walls. Today it can be rented as overnight accommodation by guests of Bern’s cultural institutions and private individuals or viewed as part of a guided tour.
Use of the attic is overseen by the Dürrenmatt Attic Association. Membership is open to all cultural institutions in Bern.

Costs
Overnight stays
- For guests of member institutions of the Dürrenmatt Attic Association CHF 55 per night (minimum invoice amount: CHF 200)
- For private individuals CHF 95 per night (minimum invoice amount: CHF 240)
Guided tours
- A fee of CHF 250 (schools: CHF 180) is charged to cover the costs of a tour lasting approx. 1 hour.
