Damian Elsig (*1972) is the Director of the Swiss National Library (NL) since 16 August 2021. He studied contemporary history, modern history and political economy in Bordeaux and Fribourg, graduating in Fribourg in 2001. He was Director of Valais Media Library and deputy head of the Directorate of Culture of the Canton of Valais until the summer of 2021.
