Quarto
“Quarto”, the journal of the Swiss Literary Archives, is published once or twice a year. Focusing on a different one of Switzerland’s four literatures each time, it presents unpublished literary texts and in-depth essays on the work of authors or selected topics. In each issue, the contributions in writing are accompanied by an extensive image section comprising archival materials.

Quarto 55 revolves around the phenomenon of the unreadable. The focus is on texts and writings that are difficult or impossible to decipher, that appear strange and enigmatic, but precisely because of this exert a special fascination beyond the usual horizons of understanding.
