Centre Dürrenmatt Neuchâtel

The mission of the Centre Dürrenmatt Neuchâtel (CDN) is to research, preserve and interpret the visual work of Swiss writer and painter Friedrich Dürrenmatt (1921–90) as it relates to his literary oeuvre, and to communicate it to the public.

The CDN presents the works from its collection in a permanent exhibition and realises temporary exhibitions involving contemporary artists. The museum also offers events, tours and outreach programmes for schools, as well as publications, a podcast and virtual tours.

The CDN building, designed by Mario Botta, which is constructed around Dürrenmatt’s former home, allows visitors to access some of the writer and painter’s living areas.

The CDN is a place of research, dialogue and contemporary artistic creativity that showcases the work of Dürrenmatt, Swiss artist of international standing.
