Training

The Swiss National Library (NL) offers apprenticeships and traineeships in information and documentation, photography, preservation and restoration as well as bookbinding at various levels within the Swiss education system: upper-secondary level vocational education and training (VET) programmes, tertiary-level A Bachelor's/Master's degree programmes at universities of applied sciences (UAS), and continuing education and training (CET). Students apply the theoretical principles that they learn in the classroom in an authentic working environment. In addition, they receive work-based training from competent and dedicated professionals who provide students with guidance, support and encouragement. In consultation with professional associations and training institutions, NL apprenticeships/traineeships are continually updated to reflect the latest professional requirements.
