e-Helvetica: overview

The Swiss National Library (NL) also collects, archives, catalogues, preserves and provides access to born-digital publications. These are collectively known as “e-Helvetica”, from the term “Helvetica” meaning documents related to Switzerland.

The e-Helvetica collection consists of six components:

  • Digital commercial publications
  • Digital official publications
  • Digital standards
  • Digital university publications (e-Diss.ch)
  • Websites (Web Archive Switzerland)
  • Wikipedia articles

Long-term archiving

The long-term archive is based on the Open Archival Information System (OAIS).

Access to e-Helvetica

The e-Helvetica Access database contains full text versions of all e-Helvetica.

Bibliographical information can also be found in the online library catalogue Helveticat.
