Different types of bindings
© NL
Publications which are not sufficiently protected by their original binding are equipped (in an external bookbinding workshop) with a binding which will protect it from the normal wear and tear associated with libraries. To do this, the NL Bindery Service establishes quality standards and defines logistical processes which must be observed. Documents, other than books, must also be equipped with some form of protective packaging that corresponds to storage conditions in the stacks, for example a cardboard box.
