Open data strategy: “Helveticat” metadata released

The Swiss National Library pursues an open data strategy. As part of this, the metadata of the Helveticat electronic catalogue and of the Bibliography on Swiss history (BSH) have now been made available under Creative Commons License CC0 1.0 and can be freely used by third parties without restriction and without citing the source.

The data can be obtained in MARC21 format via the Z39.50 interface and on request via OAI-PMH. A selection of our data can be downloaded from the  opendata.admin.ch portal.

Data from other databases are also scheduled for release step by step. For privacy and copyright reasons, however, these must be individually assessed before proceeding.
